I work in the health field.. I thought I would pass this on. This was sent to us by the D.O.N.. Director of Nursing… there is a link posted in this, that you can go to to find out more “truthful” information.
As most of you have heard, there have been several outbreaks of Swine Flu in the United States & Mexico. In the past, the Swine Flu was infrequently transmitted from pigs to people. In these most recent outbreaks it appears the virus spreads from person to person.
The symptoms of Swine Flu are similar to human flu, including fever >100, cough, sore throat, body aches, headaches, chills, and fatigue.
Here is what you can do to prevent the spread of (any) infection:
Wash your hands frequently. Especially before eating or touching your face and after sneezing, coughing, blowing your nose, or touching others. If soap & water are not available, then alcohol based hand cleaners can also be used.
- Cough or sneeze into the fold of your elbow or into a tissue. Throw the tissue in the garbage and wash your hands.
- Stay at home if you have a fever of 100 or greater and are experiencing respiratory symptoms.
We will continue to monitor and alert you if additional recommendations occur.
Please, feel free to access the CDC website www.cdc.gov for further information.
