I don’t even know where to start. I will start by saying that on my days off I have worked harder then when I am actually getting paid to work.
I was at work Sat afternoon and got a phone call from my SO telling me that he was flying down. Normally he rents a car and drives up from San Antonio. I decided to go to San Antonio and pick him up this time around. That would be after getting up at 4:30 am and working 12 and 1/2 hours. By the time I picked him up I had been up for 18 hours, needless to say I was beat. We stayed in a hotel in San Antonio that night so there wasn’t a long drive home
Sunday morning we got up and we were off and running. My sweetheart must have been one of those little boys that like to take things apart and put them back together. If I say anything about fixing something, he is on it. As I posted in another blog, one day I was getting ready to do some baking and the oven wasn’t working. He decided to find the problem..
He never does anything half way, it’s all or nothing. He pulled the oven out of the wall and as you can see took it apart. After doing a few test he found that it was the heating coil. I live in a small town so needless to say we had to order the part online. Now the real test comes. Can he put it back together. YES he can.
On to the next “toy” he wants to take apart. The same day the oven went out the garbage disposal crashed.
As you can see, it’s seen better days. He took it out. I decided that I could live without it so he redid the plumbing under the sink.
Now is this man good or what. What is so funny about this is that he likes doing this stuff. Hey, I have been married several times, and sadly to say if I needed something done it was like pulling teeth. I am sure that all men are not like that and my SO is proof. On the other hand if I were to marry him that might change. Why fix what’s not broken ?
Next, and god bless this man, I decided I wanted a new kitchen floor. We spent all of Monday removing the old floor. Let me just give you a tip that we found while trying everything we could get our hands on to get the old flooring off. We bought all kinds of stuff to help with this, and nothing was getting the job done. He decided that heat would help with removing the sticky tile. I came up with the idea of using a hair dryer. It Worked!!!! Heating the tile made it easy to scrap it up and not in pieces, but the whole tile. After getting this done the real job is getting all the glue off the floor.
This is the floor after removing all the tile. This morning we get up and ready for tackle putting down the new flooring. I walk into the kitchen and find this man doing this…
Making BREAKFAST ! Did I not tell you that he is
“SIMPLY THE BEST”. Yesterday while we were busy doing all the above, He took my car down and had the windows tinted for my birthday which actually isn’t till next mo. He is my “HERO.” I have never had a man treat me so well. Hey, I know it’s not all about me, and I must be doing something right or he wouldn’t want to do these things for me.Well back to work. We have a floor to lay today. I will post a picture when we get it finished. I know with his help I will be very pleased with the outcome……
